Mommy Diary Take Two: 22 Weeks

May 23, 2014

Dear Asher,

Sweet sweet boy, you are getting so frustrated this week! All you want to do is roll over and move but you can't figure the move part out. You get so angry, just pumping those legs and wiggling. You can rotate yourself in full circles but the forward motion completely eludes you still. You even refuse to lay on your back for baths, giving your daddy quite the workout trying to keep you safe in the water on your tummy as you play with your bath toys. I think my favorite part of our day is still rubbing coconut oil on all your soft rolls--you cackle and giggle every night as I massage you. You are so incredibly ticklish, it's adorable! Kissing those sweet, soft, cushioned cheeks is just divine sweet honey.

Mommy Diary Take Two: 5 Months

May 20, 2014

Dear Asher,

This month has brought so much change: two new teeth, purposeful rolling in all directions, and a massive growth spurt (we found your neck beneath those rolls!). All day, no matter where we go, you are called a happy baby--and overwhelmingly you are. Even through those couple days your teeth were breaking through you really didn't show us too much fuss; you mostly just didn't want to be put down unless your brother was near, you just cannot stop watching him and you think he is just an absolute hoot.  I love watching your relationship develop right before my eyes.  Maybe the best gift I could have given you is your big brother; even though I know there will be rough times between you, I watch the love you show each other and know there is something beautiful at work. After your growth spurt you swiftly began filling out 18 month clothes and only a few 12 month size still fit you.  Probably why they always ask us if you need a high chair at restaurants now and we have to assure them you're too young.  Although that is coming up quickly too! This is just going so fast for your mommy, I'm trying so desperately to cling to these baby months. I love you so.

Love,
Momma

Mommy Diary Take Two: 21 Weeks

May 16, 2014
Dear Asher,

This week has been crazy. We started out with your baptism, which was wonderful. You didn't fit in the suit your brother wore but you got to wear the Gilmore Christening gown, which was equally symbolic for us. You smiled when they poured the water over you, daddy thinks you got excited and thought it was bath time. Then mommy got really sick with an infection in her breast that had you really activated because your milk was hard to get. Then your first two teeth busted through in under 24 hours! Crazyness!! It is all happening so very fast, which I know I say all the time, but you really do seem less and less baby like. Plus you're now halfway into your 18 month clothes and most of your 12 month clothes are steadily being put into storage. Our big tank!

Love,
Momma

Mommy Diary Take Two: 20 Weeks

May 9, 2014

Dear Asher-

This week has been hard. You had some problems after I ate something with goat milk and then spent the next few days with tummy troubles that had you quite the fuss-pot. That and teething made this week a bit rough. But we soldiered on and you're still giggling a storm. You are so ticklish it just cracks me up. Your ribs, sides, armpits, neck--all of it will render you breathless with giggles. You also find it hysterical if we blow on your ears. I love making you laugh, as do big brother and Daddy--you think they are both funny beyond words.  You also get so excited when Daddy comes home now once you hear his voice. You try to vault out of my arms to see him. Which you are good at. You're so strong, you now roll from back to front completely on purpose all day long. You get frustrated when you can't move to reach something still but you will get there. So quickly. My big boy.

Momma

Mommy Diary Take Two: 19 Weeks

May 2, 2014

Dear Asher,

This week alone you have changed so much. Daddy and I noticed you suddenly had less chin rolls, then we went to put you in your pjs and they barely fit. I would set you in your crib and if you stretched the buttons would pop. I had to wash your 18 month clothes, which is unbelievable at just 4 months old! My little newborn is gone. You also love sitting up and can do it by yourself, propped on your hands. You adore it because you can see everything and everyone. Your ability to purposely grasp and hold on to anything in front of you or anything you want is now exponentially better. You keep pulling my hair to bring me closer to you. Your sweet laughter is so infectious; thankfully you are still so generous with it and your incredible smiles.

Love,

Momma
